Exercising Benefits and the Fitness Ball

November 30th, 2011

Regular physical activity and exercise is essential in weight loss, weight control, and improved health. Different kinds of exercise offer various benefits. Cardiovascular or aerobic training primarily improves the heart and the lungs, weight training improves strength and flexibility, while stretching exercises improve mobility and coordination. In general, regular exercise may help reduce heart disease, cancer, certain types of diabetes, and other metabolic conditions. In addition, exercise may also improve brain chemistry and reduce anxiety.

Backpacking Boots?

November 30th, 2011

Backpacking boots or any of the traditional hiking boots may have their place. That place just isn’t on my feet. If you don’t have specific problems with your ankles, there isn’t snow on the ground, and you don’t carry more than thirty pounds on your back, try running shoes. You’ll be so happy that you did.

Backpacking or hiking boots are heavy, hot, stinky, and stay wet forever. Decent running shoes can be as light as one pound per pair, while most hiking boots top three pounds. Army research showed that a pound on your feet is like five on your back (some say six), so three-pound boots naturally leave you more tired at the end of the day.

Backpacking Boots And Ankle Support

Some backpackers argue for the necessity of ankle support, but throughout history people managed without stiff ankle-supporting boots. Even if you are carrying thirty pounds on your back, consider the fact that there are people walking around that weigh 60 pounds more than you, and without problems. It is an issue of weak ankles, not a lack of support. To solve this problem, try walking a little each week on uneven ground (not in the mall).

While some may really need hiking boots, why not be sure your ankle problems are not just due to a lack of exercise before you settle for backpacking in heavy boots. It is true you may need hiking boots if you carry more than thirty pounds when you backpack. The solution to that is to cut the weight down.

Why Running Shoes?

Your feet will stay cooler in a good running shoes than in hiking boots, and this means fewer blisters. Once I switched to running shoes and lightweight socks years ago, I stopped getting blisters, and I don’t mean fewer blisters. I mean no blisters. I haven’t had one blister since I switched, not even after a 110-mile 7-day trek in the Rockies, for example.

For socks, I have used nothing but thin nylon dress socks for years. They are cheap, and they weigh less than an ounce per pair. That makes it easy to carry enough fresh socks. They also can be easily rinsed out and dried quickly. My feet won’t tolerate hotter socks now, although I do bring a warmer pair for sleeping or for cold weather.

Unless you have size 13 feet, you should be able to find good running or hiking shoes that are under two pounds per pair. Carry a kitchen scale to the shoe store if you have to. Unfortunately, catalogs sometimes don’t show weights, so you’ll have to guess which hiking shoes are lighter based on the description and photo.

The higher quality shoes have soles stitched to the uppers. Look under the insoles to check this. A removable insole is another sign of quality shoes. Usually you can find a good pair of running shoes under 28 ounces and under $80, or half of that on closeouts.

Until you try it, you won’t know how liberating it is to ditch the heavy pack and heavy boots and hit the trail in running shoes. Go more miles more comfortably. Run up a hill just to see what’s there. I haven’t yet met a person who has tried backpacking in hiking shoes or running shoes – and then returned to backpacking boots.

Factoring Can Be An Ideal Solution For Start-Up And/Or Growing Businesses

November 30th, 2011

Factoring is one of the oldest methods of business financing in existence. The history of factoring dates back to the days of moneylenders in the middle ages. Factoring has been the working capital facility of choice in Europe for centuries. It has taken on a new life in recent years as a financing method for many businesses in the United States.

Factoring is the sale of accounts receivable, as opposed to borrowing against them as you would do with a bank line of credit. By selling your invoices, you generate immediate cash flow instead of having to wait for your customers to pay.

Companies often find themselves in the frustrating position of having sales opportunities which they cannot accept because of the lack of financing to support those sales. Banks normally cannot provide adequate funding for growth due to internal credit policies and external regulatory restraints. Even if a business can qualify, the bank line of credit may be totally inadequate to support the companys sales growth opportunity.

Primary advantages of factoring versus a bank line of credit:

Factoring facilities are much easier to implement compared to acquiring a bank line of credit.

Factors have more flexibility with regard to documentation and credit issues than banks.

Factoring can be initiated and terminated very efficiently. When making a first-time purchase of invoices from a business, factors typically take one to two weeks to check the credit ratings of the customers and communicate a discount price.

The business receives payment in cash from the factoring company after delivery and invoicing a customer. Immediate invoice payment eliminates the sale-to-collection business cycle; thus allowing businesses caught in a cash crunch to obtain fast relief. Turnaround on the sale of receivables is only about 24 hours.

Factoring is a sale of assets (invoices), not a loan. For businesses that either cannot qualify for traditional debt financing or that simply do not want to incur more debt; factoring is good alternative means of funding working capital.

Factors purchase all rights in the invoices and the seller has secondary liability for any invoices not collected.

The factors undertake debt collection, but the business remains ultimately responsible to repay any portion of the cash price attributable to an account that went uncollected. Factoring can be an effective solution to funding a short term gap in cash flow for the start-up or rapidly growing business.

Internet Marketing for Lawyers – Advice That Counts

November 30th, 2011

Lawyers face the same challenges any business does. In order to get new business they must market their services, i.e., advertise. And lawyers deal with the same marketing and advertising challenge every business does – how to beat the competition. Plus lawyers have to assume that any Internet or non-Internet marketing or advertising they do may well produce little or no results for the amount of time and money they spend — regardless of what an outside marketing or advertising advisor may say to the contrary.

Prior to the Internet the main non-Internet marketing option or advertising choice for any lawyer was to advertise in the yellow pages. To this day the print yellow pages contain plenty of colorful, one page display ads that feature lawyers offering their services, and lawyers pay a lot for these ads. How effective these ads are is anyone’s guess — it’s hard for your colored, one page display ad to stand out when you have 20 other lawyers doing the exact same thing! The yellow pages companies, however, continue to promote their marketing and advertising philosophy that “bigger is always better” and “everything we sell is an opportunity,” so they often present a lawyer with a non-Internet marketing and advertising solution that costs plenty but often produces little.

This line of thinking, along with the use of print yellow pages in general, has gone the way of the dinosaur at a very accelerated pace. The yellow pages in print form had their heyday for many decades, but the population now goes to the Internet for the information they seek, so most print directories are collecting dust. A lawyer who advertises in the print yellow pages may well get calls, but they’ll most likely be from vendors using the yellow pages as a cheap source of leads.

The major paid search providers (pay per click search engines) tend to offer lawyers Internet marketing and advertising solutions in a manner similar to the way the yellow pages do with their print directories. “Bigger is always better,” so rather than realistically discuss with a lawyer a pay per click Internet marketing and advertising campaign that makes financial sense and produces a decent ROI, the pay per click providers will tell the lawyer to go for as many top listing keywords (the most expensive) as their budget will permit and bid as high as they can. The lawyer may go broke in the process, but at least they’ll get exposure! Many lawyers get into pay per click as a quick way to get leads but quickly exit a month later after spending lots of money for Internet marketing and advertising results that produce nothing but expense.

While pay per click Internet marketing and advertising is the running favorite of Internet marketing advertisers worldwide, pay per click advertising for a lawyer is usually an extremely expensive proposition for what they get. How much a lawyer is willing to “pay for a lead” takes on a whole new meaning with pay per click. The cost per click for many lawyer related keywords, e.g., “personal injury lawyer,” “criminal defense lawyer,” can range from $5.00 to $70.00 per click depending on the market, and when the typical lawyer’s conversion rate (the number of clicks it takes to generate a lead) of one to two percent is factored in, the lawyer can find themselves paying upwards of $500.00 to $7,000.00 per lead, and a lead is not a client.

Part of the problem lawyers face when they work with pay per click (and this translates directly into poor conversion rates) is that (1) they spend little time creating their pay per click ads and (2) the ads direct traffic to the lawyer’s website. Any Internet marketing professional who knows something about pay per click knows you never send pay per click traffic to a website. Instead you create special pages, i.e., “landing pages” for pay per click traffic to be directed to. The landing pages perform the job of convincing traffic to do what the lawyer requires, which is normally to contact the lawyer via e-mail or by phone.

Legal Internet directories and portals offer the lawyer a potential Internet marketing and advertising option because of their popularity and enhanced Internet visibility. How effective a listing in a legal Internet directory or portal can be for a lawyer in terms of marketing, advertising and Internet exposure will depend upon the particular attributes of the legal Internet directory or portal in question. All things being equal, legal Internet directories or portals that charge a fee to be listed in them make more sense as an Internet marketing and advertising choice than similar sites that offer listings for free. The lawyer has to be particularly careful, however, when they consider advertising in legal Internet directories and portals that “look” like they offer a lot — and a price to go with it — but for whatever reasons simply do not produce enough leads for the amount of Internet marketing and advertising money the lawyer must spend.

Many legal Internet directories and portals exist that have a very strong Internet presence, and they are excellent resource centers for lawyers, but this does not automatically make them good places to advertise. With Internet legal portals especially it’s not how many lawyers the portal attracts but how many people the Internet legal portal attracts who are searching for legal services. People have paid thousands of dollars for advertising in Internet legal portals that have produced nothing in the way of Internet marketing and advertising results. A very wise idea for any lawyer who considers advertising in an Internet legal portal is to get some very accurate user demographics on what kind of specific traffic the Internet legal portal is actually attracting.

What is a lawyer supposed to do? Everywhere the lawyer looks, whether the marketing and advertising media is Internet or non-Internet, considerable financial risk is involved, and a guarantee that the lawyer will get good, solid results for the amount of money they spend is often hard to achieve.

Ultimately the best way for a lawyer to go with Internet marketing and advertising – the way that will ultimately get them the best long term results for the money they spend — is to focus on getting their website to rank high in organic search results. When all things are considered, people on the Internet who search for goods and services mainly search for websites to find their answers. They may look to legal Internet directories and portals, and if they don’t find what they want they may turn to pay per click listings as a last resort (only about 30% to 40% of users bother with pay per click) but ultimately people who search the Internet are looking for websites that provide them with the answers they seek.

If a lawyer is looking for an Internet marketing and advertising solution that doesn’t require being part of the pay per click crowd, the lawyer may want to look into pay per phone call programs. Pay per phone call is like pay per click, but the lawyer does not pay for a call unless they receive one. And the costs for pay per phone call are normally substantially less that what the lawyer will pay for a click in many cases. A smart lawyer may even want to consider getting involved with several pay per phone call providers with the idea that between the providers the lawyer will receive enough leads in the aggregate to make involvement with these programs worth it.

Many of the Internet marketing and advertising solutions that a lawyer chooses to look into must be tried on a case by case basis. Absolutely nothing can be assumed. A pay per click advertising campaign that works extremely well for the lawyer with one search provider might fail miserably with another.

One last thing that a lawyer should be aware of when it comes to the Internet and a website presence is that appearances really do count. Many people have been on the Internet for 10 years and have correspondingly seen websites of all types and styles. People are used to seeing professionally designed websites. The lawyer’s website should be too.

Health Benefits of Weight Training

November 30th, 2011

People lift weights for various reasons. Some lift weights to build strength and endurance, improve their health, while others just want to look good. Whatever the reason, the health benefits of this exercise are just overwhelming. There are two basic types of weight lifting that produce different results. These principles become important for individuals who are training for certain sports. Exercisers who want to develop strength may train with heavy weights with fewer repetitions. On the other hand, individuals who want to develop muscle endurance may use light weights and more repetitions. Whatever the effect, heavy and light weight training may bring health benefits to anyone who engages in it.

Lakeycia Jefferson on Eliminating Debt with Wealth Masters

November 30th, 2011

American families are suffering unprecedented financial hardships and the trend doesn’t seem to be stopping anytime soon. Many homeowners are being forced into foreclosure due to the collapse of the subprime mortgage market and it’s having a ripple effect on other borrowers, who also now find themselves in dire straits or in bankruptcy court. “Although people desperately want to gain control of their finances and build wealth, there has been an overwhelming trend in the opposite direction,” says Lakeycia Jefferson, a consultant with Wealth Masters International (www.wmitoday.com/wealthtransfer).

Links To Try Out And Be On Your Way To Self-Improvement… A Great Helping Resource!

November 29th, 2011

The popularity of self-improvement books, tapes and seminars is a reflection of the universal interest we all have in overcoming our limitations, or “being the best we can be” or “achieving our full potential.”

Popular applications of self-improvement programs include motivation and confidence, personal relationships, sales and job performance, enhancement of sports performance, public speaking, weight control and smoking cessation.

Here are some basic principles to help you determine whether such products or programs are worthy of your time and money.

There is no book or program that will be an exact fit for your needs and interests. Books and group programs are necessarily general in nature. Some of the ideas and concepts may apply well to you, but others may be irrelevant or just plain wrong as applied to your own personality and life situation. Use good judgment and discrimination in following advice offered in any self-improvement program.

Be wary of any program that is highly authoritarian and that tears you down, or attacks people who question what is being done. There have been many group self-improvement programs that have enjoyed a temporary burst of great popularity over the years that have been extremely damaging to some participants.

The most effective program or tape would, of course, be one that is designed specifically for the individual, addressing his or her unique goals, motivation and personality. Obviously this can be done only in personal consultation with a professional person such as a psychologist and involves the cost of paying that professional person for the time it takes them to provide the individual attention required to design a program or tape tailored exactly to your needs.

Suggesting a link to which you can seek for help can make things easier for you to achieve your goal. Help is on its way. Here are links that I can suggest you can visit.

Psych Web by Russ Dewey:

http://www.psywww.com/

The content of this awesome and well-organized site might be described as half-way in between the sites “Self Improvement Online” and “Mental Health Net.” Although its modest self description on the home page is “This Web site contains lots of psychology-related information for students and teachers of psychology,” it is that and much more. The links on its self-help directory page alone are worth the time of the trip to this site: http://www.psychwww.com/resource/selfhelp.htm.

Internet Mental Health:

http://www.mentalhealth.com

In their words: “Internet Mental Health is a free encyclopedia of mental health information. It was designed by a Canadian psychiatrist, Dr. Phillip Long, and programmed by his colleague, Brian Chow…Internet Mental Health is for anyone who has an interest in mental health: -Mental health professionals -Patients who want to learn more about their illness -Friends and families of patients -Mental health support groups -Students -Members of the general public who want to learn more about mental health” This is an impressive site with many helpful articles and resources. If you are interested in mental health from any point of view, you’ll be happy you visited.

Life Mentoring:

http://www.lifementoring.com/

Because of the demand from our clients we started this site Life Mentoring for individual visitors, in
1998. It’s mission is to provide you with the best collection of thoughts, ideas, philosophies and practical concepts for leading a truly meaningful and successful life. It is not linked to any school of thought, but rather wants to give you an overview of all different approaches – and so you to choose and pick whatever suits your needs best.” The site has a number of very good articles, excellent collection of links, a free newsletter, a bbs/forum. Lots of enthusiasm, but no commercial hype.

A group program or a general tape is, of course, less costly. If it does in fact does come close to fitting the goals, motivation and personality of the individual reasonably well, it may prove to be a useful self-improvement tool. It is a less costly approach, but it could not reasonably be expected to be as effective as a program or tape designed specifically for you.

Getting Your Online Degree

November 29th, 2011

All of your life you have wanted a college degree but circumstances prevented you from going to college right after high school. Maybe you decided to go to work for a while and just ended up staying there because you got married and focused on raising your family. Perhaps you decided to serve your country by joining the military. Maybe you just couldnt afford to leave your small town and head to the big city to get a college education. Whatever the reason, you still want that piece of paper that says you are a college graduate, and of course the opportunities that go along with the prestige.

The good news is that it is not too late. In fact, with distance learning it is never too late. All you need is a personal computer with Internet access, and the willingness to learn. The possibility of getting an online college degree is only as far away as a click on your mouse.

You can achieve your dream online through a distance learning program no matter where you live or how old you are. Of course you will still have to do all of the work and studying but if you are interested and open to the possibility, then it is within your power to make that happen.

Today hundreds of universities and colleges offer online programs that range from improving your basic skills all the way to graduate study courses. You can get a certificate in business management or learn how to repair computers. You can study anthropology or aerodynamics. You can learn to be a mechanic or a mathematician. You can learn for the benefit of just improving yourself or you can enroll in a program that will let you graduate with a bachelors or graduate degree.

The choice of where, when and how is up to you. Best of all you do not have to travel, the costs are a fraction of attending a bricks and mortar school, and you can learn and study at your own pace and at a time that is convenient for you. So what are you waiting for? Find out which distance learning programs offer an online degree or skills training that you would like to receive. Then clear off your kitchen table and begin working to achieve your dream. Your future is just one click away.

Top Ten Things I Would Like To See Regarding Baseball

November 29th, 2011

1 Put the designated hitter in the National League or remove the DH in the American League. Lets create some uniformity. It is crazy when the world series is play.d. The home team uses the DH when the games are played in an American League Park. But there is no DH when the games are played in the National League Park.

2 Re: Ground Rules or Grounds Rules or Grounds Rule Not Grounds Round or ground beef. I never know what they call the play. If, in the opinion of the umpire. I know I know, some of you do not like opinions, especially by umpires. But the umpire thinks that Derek Jeter should score on a well hit ball by Alex Rodriguez that a fan touches. Derek Jeter may have been running on the pitch. The umpire thinks that Derek should score even though the ball went into the stands or a fan touched the ball. Derek Jeter is then sent back to third base if the fan touched the ball. Let the man score already. Do not send him back to third base. See how confusing it is.

3 Food and drink at the ball park costing less than a mortgage payment. I suggest having a special night where people can eat at the regular price for a hot dog. Half price night.

4 Babe Ruth, Lou Gehrig, Joe Dimaggio, Mickey Mantle, Yogi Berra, Derek Jeter, Tony Lazzeri, Graig Nettles and Bill Dickey play as a team. Today. So what if I am a little wacky.

5 The plastic bag liner that is used in the Metrodome is torn down and replaced with Saran Wrap. For no good reason, except to see how it would look.

6 All stadiums with retractable roofs. In case I am at a game and it starts to rain or the weather gets too cold. Hey close the roof.

7 Mel Allen is announcing games again. I loved it when he started up the broadcast with his famous “Hello There Everybody.”

8 People that at one time loved baseball. Now because of a strike, or steroids, or corked bats or exorbitant salaries, or whatever issue they had with the game turned away from baseball. They rekindle their love for the game and have some baseball fun.

9 My daughter (she plays softball) bats over .600 this year.

10 Your team wins. Unless they are playing against my team.

Cleaning Tips – Their Usefulness To Website Visitors And The Cleaning Company

November 29th, 2011

If you type into the search engines the phrase “cleaning tips” you get a choice of something like 14,800,000 websites to choose from and many of those websites will redirect you to scores of other websites. There are specific sites that are dedicated to giving hints, advice and tips on a variety of topics with seemingly no vested interest. Many of these tips are useful. However many cleaning companies include on their websites a cleaning tips page. I would argue that many of these are useless both to the visitor and to the company.

Why do they do it? To attract more visitors to their site? To gain more customers? The purpose of the website is to provide information to potential customers on the services and products the business provides. Every visitor should be a potential customer. If a visitor leaves without making an enquiry then you have to improve the website and or the services you provide. Or you are not using the right keywords so are attracting people in by default. It is not really your type of services that the person actually wants. No matter what you do you will always attract a certain number of these. What you actually require is lots of high quality visitors. The best way of achieving this is to provide the surfer with as much high quality content as you can whilst still accurately describing your own companies products and services accurately. Good content will go down well with the search engines and raise your profile on them, which in turn should drive quality visitors to your site. Hence improving sales.

This is the whole purpose of the website. For businesses it is purely a marketing tool and another method of gaining customers. So how do cleaning companies produce lots of high quality content? Many go for “frequently asked questions” which is quite a legitimate way of producing content whilst informing potential customers of things they are likely to want to know about you and your products and services. So we come to the “cleaning tips”. A little research has demonstrated to me that well over half the cleaning companies with visible websites have at least a page on cleaning tips and some have multiple pages divided up into different categories. Try reading through these sometime. Carpet cleaning companies are the biggest users of these types of pages. How useful are they? Some of the tips provided by these carpet firms are quite useful, but the general cleaning companies leave a lot to be desired. Their cleaning tips are akin to those you might see on the TV reality programmes about cleaning. For example “make a paste with baking soda and vinegar and smear over your taps; wrap cling film around and leave over night. Scrape off in the morning.” It may work but why would anybody want to do that when two minutes using phosphoric acid with the minimal of effort would achieve much better results? Do the cleaning companies themselves make use of any of these tips? You can bet your life that very few do. The object is to get the job done as quickly and efficiently as possible so for each job you choose the most effective and efficient cleaning product available. So why do they have these pages? They attract people who are not likely to be turned into customers because they are looking for ways to do it themselves. So it can only be for the purposes of attracting any visitor type. It is content and content about cleaning but very few companies are going to give away their actual methods of doing something quickly and efficiently which would be beneficial to the visitor instead they perpetuate old style cleaning methods which bear no resemblance to the modern world.

So for the web browser I would suggest that if you are looking for cleaning tips look elsewhere than at those provided by cleaning companies except possibly the carpet-cleaning firms. If you are a cleaning company looking to increase your content on your website look elsewhere than at providing a “cleaning tips” page. You can produce better and more relevant content than that unless you are prepared to give away your trade secrets!

Electric Radio Controlled Cars The Recommended Choice For The Newcomer

November 29th, 2011

One of the first decisions for the newcomer to the world of radio controlled cars is whether to buy an electrically powered or a nitro powered car.

As a general rule, electric radio controlled cars and trucks are the best choice for the beginner since they tend to be simpler, quieter, cleaner and easier to operate. The trade-off for this simplicity and ease of operation comes in the form of cars that do not have the realism and the power brought to radio controlled cars by nitro engines, but it is undoubtedly a wise decision to cut your teeth with an electric model before tackling the complexities of nitro power.

Electric radio controlled cars use battery packs to power both the motor and steering and these are normally recharged using either a 12-volt car battery or a mains powered charging unit. Batteries run for between 5 and 10 minutes, depending on the type of engine in the car, and re-charging usually takes between 15 and 30 minutes. Because of this, it is highly recommended that you buy at least two, if not three, battery packs to allow for more or less continuous running.

At first glance, electric radio controlled cars can appear to be much less expensive, but the cost of such things as additional battery packs, a battery charger and other accessories, will often bring the final cost of an electric car close to that of a nitro powered car. Naturally, the long-term cost also depends on the model of car that you purchase and the type and quality of battery pack that it requires, as well as how often you run the car.

The main difference between electric and nitro powered radio controlled cars is seen when it comes to maintenance. Though the cost of battery packs can be high, their care and maintenance is relatively easy when compared to the work involved with changing air filters, tuning, fueling and attending to a variety of engine parts on a nitro powered car.

As mentioned earlier, electric radio controlled cars are not as powerful as their nitro powered cousins but, nonetheless, modern electric cars are still more than capable of holding their own on the racing circuit. Perhaps more importantly however for the beginner, they provide a quick and easy answer to getting up and running and to learning the ins and outs of model car racing, without the steep learning curve, and often frequent frustration for the newcomer, provided by the complex modern nitro engine.

Many beginners are tempted into buying a nitro powered car because, in addition to simply running and racing the car, they also want to build their own car and mistakenly believe that this is only possible if they purchase a nitro powered vehicle. This is not the case.

Both nitro and electric powered cars come in kit form with complete instructions so that you can build your car from scratch. Admittedly, electric car kits are less complex and an electric car is easier to build, but this is still not an easy undertaking for the beginner and is certainly a challenge.

At the end of the day the choice is of course yours but, as with many other hobbies, if you rush in and try and achieve too much too quickly you often meet a host of obstacles and frustration and end up walking away feeling that it was perhaps not all it was cracked up to be. Radio controlled car racing is an exciting and rewarding hobby, but it will take time to master, so choose the simple route in and enjoy the speed and fun of racing your electric car before moving on to the added thrill and excitement that comes from nitro power.

Playmobil And Childhood Stories

November 29th, 2011

Why medieval castles seemed so familiar in the history class for me and most of my classmates? Why some of us have a dj vu when we watch films like the “Pirates of the Caribbean”? We have spent so much time assembling the Playmobil version of the castle, or making stories about pirates, knights, sheriffs and Native Americans as children and playing with the Playmobil spaceship, that sometimes we think that we actually have lived in all those places. For everyone who was a child in the 1980s and later Playmobil is not just the name of a toy, it is a legend.

Snow Boarding – Increasingly Popular

November 29th, 2011

At the moment there are lots try.exus.com/these-are-genuine/134/’>of really cool snow boarding games out there for almost every computer console that you can think of, there is also online games and PC games for you to try. It really is a lot of fun for those of us who want to sample the world of snow boarding through a game. A lot people criticise computer games and the way that they stop children going out and doing real sport and activities, and although this is the case with a lot of children I have found that many of the people that I know that have started snow boarding only done so because they firstly tried it on a computer.

Paid Surveys Outline and Review

November 29th, 2011

There are many companies searching for people to get their opinions to help improve on products and services.

A survey is a means to gather opinions and receive more information about a certain product, service or just basic information about a group of people. For example, a company can conduct a survey to gain a better profile of their customers – their gender, age, occupation, incomes and so on. Most surveys take from 5 to 15 minuets to take.

Another example is the common surveys for usability of certain products – in this case, customers are asked questions about the product that will help the company to improve it.

Government & Agencies

In certain occasions, the government or another agency will perform a survey in order to receive the opinion of the nation about specific question. Surveys can also be performed by statistic agencies to gather statistic data (when there are elections coming for example).

A common way of gathering people’s opinion nowadays is the paid survey. In this case, people are paid to participate in a survey. The company who needs the information can conduct a paid survey or a third party that is doing it on behalf of different companies can conduct it.

Paid surveys can bring you extra income. Payments vary among different surveys – you can be paid from $10 to $200 for completing a single survey, or participating in an online focus group. In general, the remuneration depends on the survey type and its length. If we assume you complete five paid surveys per month of an average of $50 you can see that you have made $250 quite easily.

Well, if you’re like me, it sounds interesting and tempting so far. Now you are asking yourself, how do I get into this paid surveys thing?

The quickest and easiest way is to search the internet. You will quickly find hundreds of web sites offering paid surveys. However, do not jump at the first offer. Check each site carefully to see if it is genuine. Unfortunately, there are many fake companies offering paid surveys and later you may discover that there are no payments at all.

You should first look if the site looks credible, if it shows a contact address and phone number, are there testimonials from other people participating in their program. Some sites may ask you to pay a set up fee upon registration. It is an application fee for your enrolment in the site’s database. It may sound fair enough for you however, this is the easiest way to be fooled – they can just take the money and forget about sending you surveys.

Find discussion groups or forums dedicated to paid surveys – you will not only find the best sites for paid surveys but you will see peoples recommendations and suggestions about how to make the most out of this opportunity.

Finally be very careful to whom you are disclosing your personal information. While some paid surveys are genuine and conducted with research purposes, others might be used for unsolicited mail shots or email spam. Call the web site and ask for explanation to see what kind of personal information you will have to give them and how it will be used. This is always a good idea before you commit yourself.

I will be posting several reviews over the next few months on various sites. Come back from time to time and check. You can find a link at the top of this site for a paid survey site that has had proven success.

Feel free to visit all of my sites Paid Surveys and Online Surveys

Adolescent Anger Management Strategies

November 29th, 2011

Adolescent anger management is becoming more prominent in our society. Traditionally, children who enter this last acute phase of bodily and mental development can go through some rough times. As kids enter their preteen and then their teenage years, chaos can ensue at times for everyone involved. A child or young adult may feel that his or her body and mind are out of control occasionally, and the parents and teachers who supervise children at this age may tend to agree. Anger can spring out of nowhere to challenge innocent requests and reasonable expectations. Yet kids between the age of twelve and sixteen sometimes react in unpredictable ways, surprising those around them and even themselves and requiring the intervention of adolescent anger management strategies.

Todays teens face even greater pressures than those of the past. By age eighteen, most have witnessed thousands of murders on television and video games. Some are involved in violent or illegal gang activity. Others come from broken homes where domestic violence and substance abuse are the norm. By the time they start going through puberty, their entire existence may seem out of their control, and they may grow increasingly enraged, acting out their anger in antisocial ways that require adolescent anger management.

Adolescent Anger Management and Juvenile Delinquents

Sadly, many teens experience frustrations that drive them to vent anger toward people or things, breaking civil laws. This type of behavior often leads to incarceration, or at the very least, intervention by parents, teachers, law enforcement officials, and juvenile experts who attempt to train children how to respond in age-appropriate ways. Adolescent anger management programs teach kids individually or in peer groups how to identify negative feelings, work through them in the right kind of ways, seek help when needed, and practice more mature behaviors.

During periods of time spent at juvenile detention centers, teens involved in adolescent anger management programs can learn how to improve their behavior in socially acceptable ways. Therapists can help to point out alternative attitudes and behaviors to teens who have never seen positive responses to everyday irritations modeled for them by responsible adults. They may be able to learn directly from the therapist how to manage difficult feelings, and they can read resource materials or visit websites like anger-management-information.com (site is not complete yet) for more information about this condition, and how to address it. They will find others like themselves who are learning how to get along with people and accept the situations that cannot be changed.

Community Adolescent Anger Management Programs

If you have or work with a teenager that is struggling with angry outbursts and a poor attitude, get in touch with a teacher or psychologist at your childs school or a community social services organization that can direct you to self-help resources or a local adolescent anger management group that might be willing to admit your child. Letting unresolved anger fester or continue to be displayed in dangerous ways can lead to serious consequences. Get your teen the help that is needed for coping with this behavioral disorder.

Baby Bratz Dolls: Fashionable Babies

November 28th, 2011

Baby Bratz are part of the cool line of dolls manufactured by MGA: the Bratz dolls. But don’t think for a moment these are your typical, oblivious baby boys and girls, because as with the teenage dolls, the Baby Bratz have a passion for fashion, and it shows in every set of clothes available for them.

The Baby Bratz are supposed to be the Chloe, Yasmin, Jade and Sasha Bratz dolls when they were babies. They each have a large head – even bigger than their teenage counterparts – which makes sense considering babies often have heads that appear to be too big for their tiny bodies! Kids (and even some adults) find the Baby Bratz to be cute and adorable, especially when you dress them up for the winter fun.

The price of the baby Bratz range from $7 to $11 each, depending on where you buy them, while their clothes are around $5 – $6 per pack. They have a lot of available accessories, which can go from as low as $8 to as high as $30, depending on which accessories you purchase.

A Baby Bratz doll is a terrific gift for most young girls, and is especially recommended if you are a mom or dad who is not fully happy with the teenager Bratz dolls’ looks and attitudes. If you don’t think that the excess of makeup and the arguably trashy looks are good influences for your little girl, then give her a Baby Bratz doll, and she may be equally happy.

As for the durability, these great dolls are resistant to a number of children’s typical “abuses.” I have accidentally stepped on a baby Yasmin once, and it didn’t break (but she may just have been a lucky baby!). Other than that, I have seen Baby Bratz being thrown, having “traffic accidents” with toy cars, and even getting chewed by a dog, and I never saw them break under the abuse (unless you count dog teeth marks as breaking).

Whether you are a fashion dolls collector or you are just looking for a great doll to give to your daughter, you simply can’t afford not to check out the nice baby Bratz line of dolls. They are a great way to bring tons of fun to your daughter without spending too much. It is possible to buy a Baby Bratz doll and two different sets of clothes for less than twenty dollars, which in today’s economy isn’t that bad.

The Baby Bratz line of cute dolls and accessories can be found in almost every store on the country, and is currently exported to a huge number of countries around the entire world. Once you get to know one of these adorable dolls, you will probably want another one, and soon you will have a preferred Baby Bratz. My favorite Baby Bratz is Jade; what’s yours?

3 Ultimate Japanese Automakers

November 28th, 2011

Japan has been producing automobiles for almost as long as America, to the surprise of some. As the American automobile industry has changed, so has Japans. To this day, however, Japan still has the highest concentration of automakers of any country on earth: nine to be exact. Three, however, are real standouts producing not only high quality vehicles but reaching well beyond Japan to all corners of the planet. Lets take a look at the top three and how they are impacting the North American market.

Toyota As the largest of all Japanese automakers, Toyota ranks only second to General Motors in global production. Toyota vehicles were first introduced to the North American market in the 1960s and were, at the time, widely panned by critics as being too small and inferior in quality. By the late 1970s, Toyota quality levels began to exceed the industry standard. Today, some consider Toyota the benchmark by which all car lines are judged; the companys Lexus line of luxury vehicles and Scion brand of youth oriented vehicles are also leaders in their respective classes.

Honda The only thing Honda lacks versus Toyota is size. Still, when you compare Honda vehicles with comparable Toyota models, Honda holds its own. The first Honda, a Civic, was introduced to the North American market in 1971 and was soon followed by the Accord as well as the Prelude. Routinely, the Accord battles Toyotas Camry for the top spot in U.S. car sales year in and year out, while the Honda Odyssey battles the Toyota Sienna for the highest quality minivan [Chryslers minivans still are the best sellers]. Acura is Hondas luxury car division which has also competed successfully with Toyotas Lexus line up.

Nissan Toyota and Honda are the only two fully independent Japanese automakers left in the world today as Nissan has since ceded control to Renault, Frances largest automaker. The first Nissans to hit the North American market did so in the 1960s under the Datsun model name. By the early 1980s the Datsun name was jettisoned in favor of Nissan and today the Nissan name is equated with some of the highest quality cars on the road. In the late 1980s Nissan launched the Infiniti division, a maker of luxurious cars that routinely battles with the likes of BMW, Lexus, Acura, Cadillac, and Mercedes as a top provider of opulent vehicles.

So, there you have it. Three top Japanese brands that have made a name for themselves. You may not own a Toyota, a Honda, or a Nissan, but you have to give credit where credit is due: all three automakers are proven leaders in a highly competitive and every changing industry.

Key Facts About Bird Flu

November 28th, 2011

Bird flu was first identified in the early 1900s and has since spread worldwide. Also known as avian influenza, this virus has caused considerable concern due to the mutation of a particular strain of the disease. Although this virus previously only infected birds and other types of animals, namely pigs, since 1997, it has also been known to infect humans.

The strain of the disease to cause so much concern is H5N1. These are simply numbers and letters that represent the subtype of this particular strain, 1 of 144 influenza subtypes. Not only has the virus caused an epidemic in poultry, but it has recently been feared to be leading to a pandemic, or worldwide epidemic, in humans.

While the virus was first identified in humans in 1997, it was not until 2004 that the spread became of great concern. At that time, a major outbreak occurred in Vietnam and Thailand, which spread to ten countries and regions of Asia within weeks and caused the death of 23 people. Within three months the outbreak was contained after the slaughter of tens of millions of potentially infected birds. However, the damage was already done and the virus had spread across Asia to lead to additional outbreaks. Since that time, H5N1 has spread throughout Asia, Europe, and the Middle East, and a low pathogenic form of the virus was identified in Canada on November 19, 2005. Currently, 131 humans have been infected with the virus, resulting in 68 deaths. However, it is feared this number will only increase with the ongoing spread of the disease.

The primary concern surrounding H5N1 is its mutation and ability to infect humans. As of yet, the virus has been spread from poultry to humans, and human to human transmission has only been suspected but not confirmed. Once the virus mutates further, it will easily be passed through humans, causing the disease to spread rapidly. Influenza pandemics, or worldwide epidemics, have caused a great number of deaths in the past, including the Spanish Flu which killed 50 million people in 1918. This is the ultimate concern with the mutation and spread of H5N1.

At this time, the primary cause of infection has been due to the consumption or handling of diseased poultry. Unfortunately, there have been a very few cases that were not easily explained, and therefore, human to human transmission was suspected. However, this has not been confirmed in any of the cases of H5N1 infection.

Find A Reliable Vending Company

November 27th, 2011

Installing one or more vending machines is becoming an increasingly popular option for many companies. Whether it is tea and coffee dispensers, or snacks and sweets, vending machines are far cheaper than running a canteen and saves the company a huge amount of money in time lost by staff making their own drinks during the course of a working day.

If you are thinking of installing vending machines, you will need to find a company who will either sell the machines to you, or operate them for you. Using a vending operator is usually the best course of action. All you have to do is site the machine; the vending operator will make sure that it is working, that it is refilled regularly and that it is mended if anything goes wrong. The vending machine remains the property of the operator, but the company receives a commission from the money made by the machine.

If you have decided to use a vending operator, then you need to find a reliable company. There are several things to consider:

How much experience does the company have?
How will you agree the prices to be charged for the vending goods?
How does the payments system work between you and the operator?
Can you agree a regular service agreement with the operator?
Do you have all the information you need about insurance and the Food Hygiene Regulations?

A good vending operator and vending company will make sure that all these points are covered, so that you can be sure the machine and its contents comply with the relevant legislation and that the machine will be kept refilled and in good working order.

No matter what type of business you are in, if you think you have a site that would benefit from one or more vending machines, then you should talk to some of the leading vending companies to see which option is best for your business, its staff and its customers.
